Start 'Em, Sit 'Em Week 2: Last-Minute Fantasy Football Advice for Sunday

Published by Bleacher Report on Sun, 20 Sep 2015

It's just a few hours or minutes before you have to turn in your fantasy lineup, and your heart is beating so loudly you can hear it.No, you're not a rookie and you're not in unfamiliar territory. It's called anxiety. You simply don't like your roster or your lineup. That's why we're here. Here's a look at our last-minute recommendations on who should sit and who should start in this week's matchup.Start 'emQB Tom Brady, New England PatriotsYou've heard all week what a bad situation this is for Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. The Bills showed off an explosive defense in Week 1 against the Indianapolis Colts and Andrew Luck. It seems logical to say that the Bills will continue to play that kind of defense in Week 2 against the Patriots.Top 5 most accurate QBs in Week 1: 1. Philip Rivers 2. Andy Dalton 3. Matthew McGloin 4. Tony Romo 5. Tom Brady Pro Football Focus (@PFF) September 17, 2015There's little doubt how much Rex Ryan wants this game. Not only does he want to go a game up on the Patriots in the standings, nothing gives him more pleasure than getting the best of Bill Belichick. It doesn't happen often, but it does happen on occasion.Stopping Luck is one thing, but stopping Brady (four TD passes in Week 1, three to Rob Gronkowski) is another. The Bills may have enough weapons to steal this game against the Patriots, but they are not going to shut down Brady. Look for Brady to throw for 275 yards and at least two touchdowns.RB DeAngelo Williams, Pittsburgh SteelersThe San Francisco 49ers had no trouble shutting down Adrian Peterson of the Vikings and making him look tentative in Week 1. Does that mean that the preseason assessments of the 49ers were incorrect and that the Niners are going to rise above expectations'Not necessarily. The Niners played a great game at home, but now they have to play an angry and rested Steelers team on the road (Pittsburgh opened the season last Thursday). While Antonio Brown is the Steelers' big star, DeAngelo Williams showed his elusiveness, power and speed against New England. He ran for 127 yards on 21 carries last week, and he is going to cause problems for San Francisco as well.Steelers Tomlin: DeAngelo Williams "has been very consistent for us.'' "He's been a real positive contributor" Ed Bouchette (@EdBouchette) September 15, 2015Look for Williams to rush for 90-plus yards and at least one touchdown.WR Percy Harvin, Buffalo BillsWe're not so sure that the Buffalo Bills offense will be a concern all season with Tyrod Taylor at quarterback. He is a brilliant athlete who made an excellent first impression with the Bills by completing 14 of 19 passes for 195 yards in the season opener. Taylor is an unproven commodity who will have his ups and downs. But look for those ups to continue this week against the leaky New England secondary.Explosive Percy Harvin should be one of the big beneficiaries. He is as dynamic a receiver as there is when he is motivated, and he should be fully motivated against the reigning Super Bowl champions.Harvin caught five passes for 79 yards against the Colts, and he should have at least 100 receiving yards and one touchdown against New England.Sit 'emQB Matt Ryan, Atlanta FalconsOn the one hand, it looks like Matt Ryan could have himself a huge day against a Giants secondary that could not hold the Cowboys in check in the final drive of the game in Week 1.On the other hand, the Falcons offensive line lost its grip in the second half of their opener against the Philadelphia Eagles. It's not that the Eagles have a devastating pass rush. The Atlanta offensive line has significant holes, and Ryan will be on the run throughout the game.#Giants defense placing heavy emphasis on pass rush for matchup with Falcons. STORY: http://t.co/WfWqd8d6ZJ pic.twitter.com/SbHinrykQv New York Giants (@Giants) September 18, 2015He may hit one or even two big throws to Julio Jones, but Atlanta's problems up front will prevent him from having a consistent game.RB Jonathan Stewart, Carolina PanthersWhile we have full respect for Stewart and his ability to finish his runs and get through small holes that others couldn't, it's difficult to look at the Houston defense and predict that any runner is going to find consistent success. The Texans are loaded with power up front with J.J. Watt, Jadeveon Clowney and Brian Cushing. Many teams would be thrilled to have one player with the individual talent of the Houston trio, let alone three.Another day at office for JJ Watt. 2 sacks, 1 hit, 4 hurries, 4 tackles for a loss all make him #PFFTOTW material https://t.co/32nDGQjTsS Pro Football Focus (@PFF) September 14, 2015Houston should be nearly impenetrable on defense. That was not the case in Week 1 against Kansas City, but it should be the case in Week 2 against the Panthers. Head coach Bill O'Brien and defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel can't let the defense get punctured two weeks in a row.WR Amari Cooper, Oakland RaidersThere's little doubt that the Raiders' No. 1 draft pick will eventually become a star, but it's not going to happen this week against the Baltimore Ravens.Baltimore appears to have a much stronger defense than it did a year ago, and John Harbaugh's team should be a legitimate contender for the AFC North title and a possible trip to Super Bowl 50.The Ravens lost a heartbreaker last week at Denver, so they can't let up against the Raiders. The Baltimore defense will prevent Cooper from putting his first superstar performance on the board in Week 2.
