THIS weekend presents one of the most difficult tasks for Nigerian clubs in CAF club competitions, with Dolphins of Port Harcourt and Sunshine Stars of Akure needing more than financial incentives to scale to the next round of the Champions League.Dolphins task is easier of the two, as the Port Harcourt-based team leads Cotonsport of Cameroun by 2-1 going into the second leg of their clash in Garoua. But it will take real guts for Sunshine to erase the 1-4 deficit it incurred in Angola when it meets Recreativo Libolo today in the reverse leg of the tie.But the Akure team's officials say the club is capable of achieving the feat.Officials of Sunshine Stars blamed loss of concentration for the Angolan team's three goals in the last 10 minutes of the first meeting, and have vowed to ensure they cancel the deficit in the first half of the game scheduled for Ijebu Ode Township Stadium.Even the fact that the Angolans accounted for the exit of South Africa's Orlando Pirates from the competition does not scare Sunshine Stars going into the crucial leg of the tie because 'these are different teams.'Sunshine Stars captain, Godfrey Obaobona, believes that cancelling the deficit and going on to win is possible because 'if they cans four against us, nothing stops us from doing the same when they come here.'Obaobona says his team is focused on the task ahead, citing the 4-1 demolition of Wikki Tourists during the week as reason for optimism.Dolphins is another team with a clear view of what it has to do to prolong its participation in the championship. The team won the first leg 2-1 and knows that a 0-1 loss is enough to see it out of the contest. The team departed Port Harcourt yesterday for Garoua with Coach Stanley optimistic his will survive in Cameroun.'We are optimistic that it is not yet over. We won't let the team or country down. We want our fans to still bubble with hope and now we have maximum support from the sponsors of the team,' Eguma said.
