Not only that, the portion from Leyland to Oki Junction is a death trap and any motorist who is not careful enough while driving on the road would blame him/herself,' he stated. For Mrs Odukoya Kemi, a teacher at Iwo road, she said, ' for how many years are we going to complain about the bad road from Iwo road to Monatan' Does the appropriate organs of the government want to tell us that they don't know the condition of the road, especially the gully which many people often called 'Koto Orun' which is so deep to the extent that it often claims lives of innocent individuals,' she lamented. Mr Akin Onabajo said the road from Leyland to Oki Junction in Egbeda Local Government Area of Oyo State, has become an embarrasement to the state government and has also become a threat to poeple's lives. He, however, begged the state governor to instruct the Caretaker Chairman of Egbeda Local Government Area of the state to rehabilitate the road.People living at Monatan area of Ibadan, especially those whose children attend Monatan High School, Ibadan, have also called on the state government to help repair the road, because the deep gully on the road, opposite the school, has become a threat to the lives of the school children.Motorists plying Monatan-Iwo road also called on the state government to fix the road so that their mind can always be at rest anytime they are behind the wheels plying the area.
