WWE Rumors: Buzz on Road to WWE Hell in a Cell 2015 for Week of Sept. 24

Published by Bleacher Report on Thu, 24 Sep 2015

With Night of Champions still fresh in the memory, rumors are building up fast about what is next on the horizon for some of WWE's biggest stars. There's talk about potential matches for Hell in a Cell doing the rounds, whilst this week's rumors also focus on the potential return of one of the company's most maverick stars of the past decade.Sting, Undertaker and Brock Lesnar are each discussed as Bleacher Report aims to cover all bases surrounding the biggest stories at the moment.A Big, Big Episode of Raw pre-HIACAs WWE seek to build up the anticipation and hype ahead of Hell in a Cell, it seems the company are about to pull out a star-studded line-up for the go-home edition of the show next month. With Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar scheduled for HIAC, it's somewhat obvious that both of those guys are going to be around to push their third match in little over 18 months. But as WrestlingInc.com's Marc Middleton writes, there's even more star power in the shape of some of the biggest names from the Attitude Era appearing in Dallas.Texas natives Shawn Michaels and Steve Austin will also be appearing, making for a blockbuster three hours to create a big buzz for Hell in a Cell.Austin is scheduled to interview Brock Lesnar after Raw that night, but what his involvement will be on the actual taping of Raw itself is unclear. And for further star power, Ric Flair will be in the building too. That will likely be as part of the storyline involving daughter Charlotte, who will no doubt have a Divas Championship match to build up at Hell in a Cell. But regardless of the storylines or segments these names are involved in, their presence makes for an incredible night later next month. The Latest on StingThere's been all sorts of buzz about the condition of Sting after Night of Champions, with The Icon taking a fair few severe bumps throughout the course of his match with Seth Rollins. But most concerning was towards the end, when Sting was thrown into the corner and took a serious blow to his neck. The match finished as planned, but it seems that, thankfully, Sting's neck is at least not broken. That's what F4WOnline (h/t WrestlingInc.com) are reporting, at least, and saying that he had an MRI scan that showed there were no fractures to the neck. But it's also interesting to note that the article reveals there is some concern Sting could have wrestled his last match for a fair while, which seems the most sensible way of doing things.Of course, it would have been great to see Sting appear at Hell in a Cell, but when you factor in that the guy is nearly 60, WWE are well within their rights to play it safe and make sure his health is in the best possible condition before opting to have him wrestle again. In fact, WWE ran an article on their website on Wednesday with Sting, and when asked if it would be his last ever bout, he said: "I hate it when Im asked that question because the answer truly is a question mark, and the question mark is as bold as it could ever be at this point."Whether it's WrestleMania 32 or slightly before that, it would be difficult to imagine Sting appearing again any time soon.Carlito Returning to WWE'Left-field story of the week this week comes from Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t WrestlingInc.com), who report that WWE are interested in bringing back Carlito to the company. With the departures of Alberto Del Rio and Rey Mysterio over the past year or so, WWE are currently devoid of top Latin talent, that much we do know. They have Los Matadores, one of whom is Carlito's brother, Diego, and the other his cousin Fernando, but apart from that, there's nothing in the main event scene.Well, after reports emerged at the start of the week about Carlito being sounded out about a return, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Carlito turned down a deal to come back due to pay. However, it's noted in the article linked above that if the money was right, Carlito could return. It would be an interesting move for WWE to bring someone like Carlito back, especially if they're after a top Latin star. That would indicate Carlito would be getting pushed pretty heavily straight away, much like Del Rio was when he first started out with WWE.The guy has got the talent, and he had some pretty enjoyable feuds during a career in WWE that saw him win tag titles, Intercontinental and United States Championships, and mix it with the likes of John Cena.Perhaps the apple-spitting Carlito might be back with the company sooner rather than later.
