Warriors dethrone Terrors at Promasidor Easter Parasoccer tourney

IT was battle to the finish in the final of the fifth Promasidor Easter Parasoccer Championship, where the defending champion, TC Terrors, fell to the Yeni Kuti-sponsored NAS Warriors in a cracker played at the gymnasium of the National Institute for Sports, National Stadium, Lagos.The game ended 1-1 at regulation and the extra time of the explosive final. The first five penalty shootouts could not produce a winner until Warriors edged out its opponent in the first to lose spot-kicks after the game had ended 9-9.Third place match was won by Adamawa State, which defeated the Tayo Popoola-sponsored Lead United 1-0. It was, however, naira rain for the winners as each player got N30,000, second place players got N25,000 each, those in third place, N22,000 each, while fourth place team players, got N20,000 each.Dignitaries at the closing ceremony included the First Lady of Adamawa State, Halima Nyako, who is the President of Paralympic Federation of Nigeria, Managing Director of Promasidor Nigeria Limited, Keith Richards, Managing Director of Total Consult, Theo Lawson, and Yeni Kuti, daughter of the legendary afro beat music, Fela Anikulapo Kuti.
