Yuguda appoints us-based doctor to head Bauchi health agency

THE Bauchi State gover-nor, Mallam Isa Yuguda, has approved the appointment of Dr Nasir Umar of the Howard University Hospital, Washinton DC, as the executive secretary of the Bauchi State Primary Health Care Development Agency.The appointment was contained in a press released signed the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Governor, Mr Ishola Adeyemi, a copy of which was made available to the Nigerian Tribune in Bauchi, on Thursday.While expressing the state government's appreciation to the immediate- past executive secretary of the agency, Dr Musa Dambam, Governor Yuguda also approved the appointment of Mr Adamu Gamawa, as the Managing Director of the Bauchi State Drugs Management Agency.Until his new appointment, Gamawa was with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja.Both appointments, according to the release, were with immediate effect.The release added that the Gombe State Commissioner for Health, Dr Ishaya Kennedy, was in Bauchi on Thursday, on a one-day working visit to exploit possible areas of collaboration between the two states in the areas of manpower training, among others.Dr Kennedy also visited the Vesicovaginal Fistula (VVF) Centre, in Ningi, the headquarters of Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State, where patients with invitro virginal fistula were being treated.
