Old students honour Prof Adesina

Prominent Nigerians have been enjoined to always give back to their former schools so as to improve the learning environment for the present students in the schools.This assertion was made over the weekend when the Old Students Association of Shamsu-Suudin Institute of Arabic and Islamic Studies, organised a reception in honour of one of its old students, Professor Musa Adesina Abdur Raheem, who recently became a professor in Ekiti State University. Speaking at the occasion, the Chairman of the Old Students Association, Alhaji Mojeed Raji, stated that it was important for wealthy members of the society to always look back and do something for their alma mater so as to improve the system that brought them up.He explained that the school, despite being an Islamic and Arabic Institute, has produced prominent people in different fields of human endevours.'We have produced many Professors, Doctors, among others. Gone were the days when people looked down on students of Islamic and Arabic Studies. Professor Musa Raheem is not the first Professor from this school, we produced many other Professors.'He, however, stated the celebrant was the first to be honoured by the Old Students Association, saying 'we decided to organize this reception in honour of Professor Musa Raheem because of his contributions to the development of our school.
