Company takes culinary competition to NYSC camps

HONEYWELL Flour Mills Plc has continued in its quest to identify and empower talents in the country through the introduction of a cooking competition tagged Honeywell Wheat Meal Cooking Competition.According to the company's Director of Marketing, Mr. Benson Evbuomwan, the idea was borne out the company's zeal and desire to promote cooking talents among the youths, saying such will bring out their unique skills and prepare them for the future challenges.'It will also endear them early enough to the company's products by making them Honeywell ambassadors,' Evbuomwan added.Evbuomwan, who spoke recently at the competition ground at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Lagos State camp, Iyana Ipaja, where Miss Kate Onuchukwu emerged overall best cook and carted home a refrigerator with N30,000 cash, said the company was utilising the opportunity provided by the unique change point of the youth corps members, who are future mothers and fathers by introducing to them the company's products with the view to shaping their choice of food items in future.'We are looking beyond today. Our expectation is in the long run. These are prospective mothers and fathers, who will be opinion moulders in their respective families. We are also doing this to lift the social activities in the camp so that the corps members stay will not be bored,' he said.
