Community opposes relocation of library at Iseyin

The people of Ekunle community in Iseyin Local Government Area of Oyo State have opposed the move by the local government to relocate the aging local library in the area.The old library is to be moved to Oluwole area of the town. The Secretary for the Movement for Ekunle Development(MED), Comrade Gbolagade Sulaimon, in a statement, argued that there was no need to move the old library.According to him, the movement would no doubt affect those who were used to the present location of the library.He noted that a modern library built by the state government at Oluwole and an M.D.G assisted library at Koso area, were both located at Oluwole area.He said that the old local library which the local government was trying to upgrade to modern standard should be sited at Ekunle area, to uphold the government's claim on equity and justice.While calling on the local government to rescind its decision on the relocation, the group praised the administration of Alhaji Saheed Yusuff Alaran's interim management committee for its efforts towards the development of the community.
