Armed forces warn unpatriotic persons

The defence headquarters has said that it will not sit down and watch unpatriotic persons take laws into their hands.Director of Defence Information, Colonel Mohammed Yerima, in a press conference on Monday, said the military wasfully committed to the protection of the nations democratic credentials and national security.According to him, the Nigerian Armed Forces remain committed and totally loyal to the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and as such will not sit down and watch unpatriotic persons take laws into their hands.The defence spokesman noted that it was the responsibility of the Nigerian Armed Forces to assist the civil police to restore law and order in the face of any threat to national security and they did not intend to shirk this responsibility.The defence headquarters has noted with grave concern the regrettable actions of some misguided individuals who are dissatisfied with the outcome of the ongoing electioneering process.These individuals have resorted to conscripting uninformed youths to cause public disturbance and unleash mayhem in some states.The defence headquarters had, therefore, called on senior citizens, parents and guardians to advise their wards to obey the laws of the land and desist from any act of lawlessness forthwith.
