Aregbesola: Osun PDP chides Tambuwal over comment

Published by Tribune on Tue, 24 Apr 2012

THE Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State has condemned in its entirety, the comment credited to the Speaker of House of Representatives, Honourable Aminu Tambuwal, on the controversies trailing the administration of Governor Rauf Aregbesola, especially as it concerns national security and integrity of the state. The state PDP's director of media and strategy, Diran Odeyemi, in a statement made available to newsmen, on Monday, described the comment as 'reckless and unexpected of a senior lawmaker in the calibre of Tambuwal.'The party, therefore, demanded apology from Tambuwal, failure of which it threatened to establish a case of anti-party activity against him.Odeyemi said if Tambuwal was a loyal and committed party man, he should have sought adequate knowledge of issues before coming into the conclusion that the name and integrity of Osun State was not at stake under the administration of Governor AregbesolaThe party added that it was not oblivious of Tambuwal's political intrigues, as he allowed himself to be used by the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) to distort the zoning arrangement of the PDP, in his desperation to become speaker.Odeyemi said the party might officially report the speaker to the PDP national secretariat, if he fails to apologise for the embarrassment he caused the party in Osun State.
