Residents beg Ogun govt to repair Ijoko road

Residents and motorists in Ijoko area of Ogun State have appealed to the state government to come to the aid of people of Abule, Ope-Ilu and Ijoko areas by rehabilitate ever busy ijoko road.Some commercial motorists plying the areas told Community News that the road, because of its position as the link between the communities and Lagos, usually recorded high volume of traffic. A commercial bus driver, Sakiru Ayodele, told Community News that there was the need for the state government to expand the road to accommodate move vehicles.' To solve the problem of traffic congestion in the area, there is the urgent need for the government to embark on total rehabilitation of the road. The usual patching will not solve the problem,' he said.Another resident, Dr Adedeji Ayoola, claimed that indispline on the part of motorists and residents was responsible for the incessant trafic snarl in the areas. He lamented that most car owners in the area were guilty of parking their vehicles on the road, thus compounding the situation for other road users.Dr Ayoola maintained that if people were discplined, the problem of congestion in the area will be reduce.Dr Ayoola explained that expanding the road may not solve the problem if the people were not discplined.
