South South youths, cleric warn terrorists

Published by Guardian on Fri, 27 Apr 2012

TERRORISTS in Nigeria and other parts of the world who are fabricating bombs and masterminding other forms of violence have been warned to desist from their wicked acts or face the wrath of God and the society. The warning came from the Spiritual Head of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, Leader Olumba Olumba Obu, as well as youth and ethnic nationalities' leaders in the South-South region of the country.Obu, who issued this warning recently at the World Headquarters of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star (BCS), Calabar, Cross River State, said violence was bad in the sight of God and anyone who commits it would not go unpunished. The cleric, represented by Bishop Bassey Imowo, said: 'The perpetrators of violence, the fabricators and patents of explosives and bombs, murderers, armed robbers and all those who have been working against the manifestation of the good works of God and His plans for His creation, are in for perilous times'.The groups, under the aegis of South-South Youth Leaders' Forum and Association of Ethnic Nationalities in Niger Delta, who condemned the recent threat by the sect, urged the Federal Government to halt all negotiations with the group and that the police should declare its leaders wanted.Chairman, South-South Youth Leaders' Forum, Amachree Odiedim and Coordinator, Association of Ethnic Nationalities in Niger Delta, Mike Udofia, urged security operatives to immediately take steps to prosecute all those arrested in connection with Boko Haram activities.'Otherwise, we shall be forced in no time to take steps to occupy our resources, including those wrongfully in the hands of northerners on our soil, as well as make deliberate efforts to cut supply of petroleum products to the North as soon as possible', they said.
