Oyo for All-Nigeria U-18 handball final

OYO state handball team has qualified for the final of the ongoing All Nigeria Under-18 Handball Championship in Sokoto, Sokoto state.The pace-setter team defeated Benue state 26-22 in a semi final match played at the Gingiya stadium, Sokoto to book a place in the final which would be played tomorrow.Director of Organisation, Oyo State Sports Council, Mr Gboyega Makinde in chat with Tribunesports said, "We are very sure our players will win the championship owing to the fact that they received adequate trainning from the coaches before their departure for the championship".Coach of the team, Everest Akim, in telephone interview with Tribunesports expressed satisfaction with the performance of his players, adding that, "I want to assure that we are going to win this championship by the grace of God as the players are in high spirit and ready to do Oyo state proud". He said.The team had earlier beaten Sokoto State 19-18 in the quarter finals of the tournament.
