Incoming administration advised tofocus attention on Sango-Ota

Published by Tribune on Wed, 20 Apr 2011

A community leader and business man, Alhaji Raimi Adelodun, has called the in-coming government in Ogun to focus on Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government area, especially Sango-Ota for economic revival of the state.Alhaji Adelodun explained that Sango-Ota, because of its proximity to Lagos state, has advantage of boosting the economic well being of the state. He explained that the state government could take advantage of the fact that Lagos was already filled up and that would-be investors might want to take the advantage of the proximity to Lagos to site businesses in the area. He, however, hinted that government must invest in the infrastructural development of the area before people could start thinking to site their businesses in the area.He explained that the area was not attractive to industrial development at the moment because the level of infrastructural development was very low. There are no good roads within the local government. The area is very dirty. In fact, the moment you leave the Toll-gate which is the boundary between Lagos and Ogun state, you begin to notice the rot in the system. The local government has not been lucky with good administrators. It is very shameful that even the newly inaugurated fly over bridge at Sango Ota is more or less a curse to the people because, it is now being used as dump site. It is pathetic,he said.I will advise the in-coming government to do something about the place because if it is well managed, government can generate enormous revenue from the place, he said.
