The November 4 episode of NXT was a tale of two Superstars. On one hand, there was Apollo Crews, a relative newcomer to the brand, whose victories over Tye Dillinger and Tyler Breeze provided him with enough momentum to win a No. 1 Contender Battle Royal two weeks ago.Wednesday night, he challenged Finn Balor for the NXT Championship in the biggest match of his career to this point. He delivered a fantastic showing, proving that he belongs in the main event while simultaneously calling upon the skills he learned while earning the reputation of one of independent wrestling's best. Then there was Samoa Joe, a legendary competitor in the eyes of diehard indy wrestling fans, all of whom had watched him build his legacy at Ring of Honor and TNA Wrestling before finally making the jump to WWE.They could not have been thrilled with the Joe they have witnessed thus far in his NXT stint.Luckily for them, they witnessed the heel turn that should generate more interest in the character and motivate him to be the very best he can be, especially since his assault on Balor opens him up for a main event run and championship program.Crews and Joe were the undisputed winners of the November 4 episode of NXT, but not the only ones. Who joined them, and which Superstars and Divas were the night's biggest losers'Winner: MarleyThough she was dubbed "a local competitor" and essentially was used as an enhancement talent for Eva Marie, Marley (real name Gionna Daddio) shined in her brief appearance on Wednesday's show. She showed flashes of in-ring charisma and, though inexperienced, looked comfortable in the ring, something her opponent has yet to truly demonstrate. The New Jersey native is a pizza-loving beauty who will look to continue the legacy of quality women's wrestling. For now, she can be confident in the fact that in her first major television exposure, she looked good, did her job to the best of her ability and, most importantly, did not embarrass herself.Unlike some of her fellow Divas.Loser: Eva MarieEva's status as a loser has nothing to do with her performance Wednesday night, though it was not spectacular. Instead, it is the result of management's use of her to this point.Clearly someone still finding her footing as a professional wrestler, she should be working with talented and veteran performers. Instead, she has competed against the likes of Carmella, who also doesn't have the experience necessary to carry anyone to a good match. So instead of hiding her weaknesses by pairing her with Bayley or Emma or even a main roster talent like Natalya, WWE has paired her with women who are in the same position she is.That does nothing for her or those she works with. Her every weakness is put on display for further scrutiny and criticism. It is the least effective way imaginable to help get her over and earn the respect of the fans, even if they refuse to like her.Winner: Dash and DawsonDash Wilder and Scott Dawson have not, to this point, been granted much in the way of promo time, so when they had the opportunity to confront Carmella backstage, mocking the injury they dealt Big Cass last week, they made the most of it.They were really strong in not only poking fun at Cass' injured knee but also putting in over their upcoming title match against The Vaudevillains, going so far as to present a wheelchair for the current tag team champions, with the guarantee that they will need it after next week.It was a simple and effective promo that gave the fans their first bit of insight into their characters. WWE is no longer hoping for them to get over just because they are skilled technicians.
