Neymar Discusses 'Great' Form, Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Barcelona and More

Published by Bleacher Report on Fri, 06 Nov 2015

Neymar has said he feels "at home" in Barcelona, and hopes to remain at the Camp Nou for years to come as his form improves. The Brazilian superstar told beIN Sport (h/tIvan San AntonioofSPORT) that he is delighted with his current performance level for the Blaugrana, and insinuated he has no intention of departing soon: "Like I'm at home, yes.My first year was to learn, to get to know everything. The second was better and now I feel very much more like I'm at home.I'm in a great year, from last season I'm playing in my way, how I played before, and I'm very happy for that."Neymar has been forced to lead the forward line for Barca in Lionel Messi's absence, who is currently out injured. His partnership with Luis Suarez has kept the team in contention at the top of La Liga after a sticky patch of form. The 23-year-old has hit the goal trail in recent weeks, scoring 11 times and assisting on six occasions in 14 SpanishPrimera Division and Champions League appearances, according toWhoScored.com.The player also spoke about his transfer to Barca, and the formation of one of the world's most dangerous attacking ensembles with Messi and Suarez, explaining theor roles within manager Luis Enrique's team, per beIN Sport:I already knew how Barcelona played, I've always loved their form of doing it and their players.Leo is a crack and for me, the best.I have adapted to his play. When he's there, he's the player that has the most touches of the ball in the team.Together with Luis Suarez, [I have] to make the movements to make chances.I don't know if we are the best forwards, but we're playing well and we have a good friendship off the pitch too. I think this helps a lot.I hope to be able to enjoy this attack for many years in good form.Neymar has been linked with a move away from the club after reports suggested he could be interested in a move to the Premier League with Manchester United.Prominent Spanish journalist Guillem Balague claimed the Brazil international is "weighing up" his options after playing "second fiddle" to Messi in Catalonia, per talkSPORT'sSports Bar: "Neymarfeels if he stays there [Barcelona] he wont be the No. 1 in the world. He has placed himself in the equation [a move to Manchester United] for the last few months."However, the player's latest statement appears to refute any potential deal with the Red Devils, despite the Manchester club's incredible wealth and status.Neymar and Suarez have emerged as leaders in Messi's absence, after it seemed the Barcelona ship appeared rudderless for a short time. The treble winners currently sit joined on points with Real Madrid at the summit of the La Liga table, as El Clasico approaches.Neymar is keeping the level of consistency he needs to be considered Messi's equal in the eyes of Barca supporters.
