ALSCON wins ITF award

FOR two years running, RUSAL ALSCON in Ikot Abasi, Akwa Ibom State has won the Best Contributing Employer in Human Resource Development. The company has again won the 2010 award by Industrial Training Fund (ITF).Presenting the award to the First Deputy Managing Director of ALSCON, Mr. Ivan Nikishin by the Area Manager of the agency, Mr. Gabriel Olatunji, he said that ALSCON was winning the award the second year in a row.                  .According to him, the yearly award was initiated by the Industrial Training Fund in each of the 31 zones across the country to encourage private and pubic organisation to invest in human capital development. He said the award was meant to improve effectiveness and productivity.       .This is the second time in a row that ALSCON has emerged the best among over 50 companies and institutions in Akwa Ibom State.           .The ITF area manager stressed that the yearly training programme offers the agency the opportunity to assess them and benchmark their manpower development standards against others in different sectors of the economy.       .Earlier, Nikishin said the company is interested in continuous training of its employee, knowing that such would help to enhance their efficiency and productivity.That is why we have continued to invest in training despite the challenges we have been facing. We do this because we see our workers as our greatest asset, he said.        .He said that the company has embarked on a number of training programmes in the last one year for different categories of employees, adding that, facilitators of the programmes had always been drawn from ITF and other manpower development companies, as well as in-house facilitators.
