Gov election: Kwara PDP alleges plans of thugs importation

THE Kwara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has alleged that some political parties in the state were planning to import political thugs from neighbouring states for the April 26 gubernatorial election in the state.Addressing newsmen on Wednesday, the state chairman of the party, Alhaji Yusuf Ayedun, said it had come to the notice of the party that political thugs would be imported from Osun, Ekiti and Ondo states by some political parties to rig the gubernatorial election.He disclosed further that the case had been reported to the state police command for further action, adding that Kwara State was one of the most peaceful states in the country and, as such, the party would not accept any attempt to disrupt peace in the state.On the stepping down of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) gubernatorial candidate, Alhaji Khaleel Bolaji for the gubernatorial candidate of the PDP, Alhaji Ayedun said it was a welcome development.
