A/Ibom ACN apologises to police over disparagement

The governorship candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in next Tuesdays governorship election in Akwa Ibom State, Senator Akpan James Udoedehe, has led a delegation of his party officials to tender an apology to the authorities of the state police command over their earlier stance that disparaged the state command.Speaking in the office of the state Commissioner of Police, Felix Uyanna, the ACN standard-bearer in the April 26 polls expressed regrets over statement credited to him and some of his supporters disparaging the police in the conduct of the National Assembly elections in the state.We took some of our actions against the police because of our past experience with your predecessor and former commissioner of police here, but we have come to realise that you are different, he said.He commended the police authorities in the state over their conduct during the presidential election in the state, which brought about a free and fair exercise recorded in the state.
