Accident: Ede traders mourn colleagues

Traders in Oja Timi and Oja Gada in Ede, Osun State, have closed their stalls to mourn their colleagues who died in a ghastly accident last week Monday.Nineteen traders, mostly pepper sellers, who were traveling from Ede to the Northern part of the country to buy their wares, died in a ghastly accident which occurred between Jebba and Mokwa in Niger State recently.It was shock, wailing and disbelief for the traders under the auspices of Market Women Association and Traders Union when the news of the unfortunate  death  of the  traders in an auto-crash came to them at home.The  victims,  majority  of whom  were  pepper  sellers, were coming from the  market  trip in the  early hours on the fateful day when the acciAccident: Ede traders mourn colleaguesdent occurred at a location near Mokwa, Niger State.One of the marketers, who spoke with Community News on anonymity,  confirmed that the accident instantly claimed the lives of 12 of the victims, while the others died later on their way to the hospital.Since then, business activities in the market become grounded as shops and stores in the market were locked up, while those residing around the area were shedding tears with others weeping profusely to mourn the departed ones.The Chairman, Caretaker Committee of Ede North Local Government Council, Dr. Tiamiyu Bello, in a condolence message, urged the families of the deceased to take their death as the wish of God.He prayed God to grant them solace and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss of their loved ones.
