Seven-Up hosts Nigerian Idol winners

SEVEN-UP Bottling Company (SBC) Plc, in line with its mission of providing a veritable platform to refresh and inspire youthful lifestyle, has once more reinstated its strong commitment to support laudable programmes and projects that are youth-specific.Mr. Femi Mokikan, the Executive Director, Human Resources stated this recently when the trio of Yeka Onka, Naomi Mac Ebiama and Emmanuel Patrick, winner, first and second- runners up respectively at the recently concluded reality TV show, Nigerian Idol, paid a courtesy visit to the company.He said that over the years, SBC has identified and nurture the Nigerian youth by bring out the talents in them through football as shown in the number of Super Eagles players like John Mikel Obi, Osaze Odemwingie, Solomon Okorokwo and Uwa Elderson Chiejile, among many others that were discovered through the Pepsi Football Academy.Now we are moving into another segment, which is music. Music has a universal appeal with many Nigerian youth embracing it in recent time. We shall as a company contribute our quota to help discover and nurture talents which no doubt abound in this sector allover the country, Mr. Mokikan said.Mr. Mokikan congratulated the trio for coming tops in the keenly contested event saying that they should hold-on fast to their vision as they start a journey into stardom in the ever demanding Nigerian music scene.In his words; The journey that you have just embarked on could be interesting or otherwise depending on the path you chose to thread. I will advice you to be very humble in this all-important journey so that it becomes fun and interesting for you, he said.The trio could not hide their excitement and appreciation to the soft drink giant for being part of the sponsors of the show saying that this move has really helped in making their dreams come true.Yeka and Naomi were later presented with their letters of sponsorship on a weekend all-expense paid trip to South Africa by Pepsi. The trio (Yeka, Naomi and Emmanuel)  were also presented with branded fridges and will also enjoy  free supply of SBC products for a period of six months.
