Kogi: Community assured of adequate compensation for trailer park

COMMUNITIES in Kogi State have been called upon to key into the transformation agenda of the current administration in the state.The governor, Capt Idris Wada, solicited the support when he received in audience Banda community in Lokoja Local Government Area of the state, who were in his office to sort out contending issues over the plan to construct a modern trailer park in the area.Capt Wada maintained that adequate compensation would be made to encourage sacrifices made by the communities and owners of land, who partner with the present administration.He revealed that the Kogi State was among the three states to benefit from the modern trailer park, to be built by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), in conjunction with the state government and called on the Banda community to show understanding and do all it can not to allow the opportunity slip the state.The park, when completed, according to Wada, will have a mega filling station, restaurant, lubricant shop, trailer park and other facilities, adding that it was a dream fulfilled for the people who were daily inconvenienced by trailers who parked along the NATACO area, which is an entrance of Lokoja.The governor who was represented by his deputy, Mr Yomi Awoniyi, said genuine demands by the community would be looked into, assuring that when the project was completed, it will attract basic infrastructures as well as open the area socio-economically.Earlier in his speech,the spokesperson of the Banda community, Umar Ahmed, commended the Wada administration for its efforts at attracting development to the state, called for adequate compensation for the owners of the land to be acquired.The community pledged its commitment to the present administration,adding that the government has taken bold steps to reposition the state in its first hundred days in office.
