Yewa LG boss assures on people-oriented programmes

The chairman,transition Committee, Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun State, Elder Kayode Samson Sangolade, has assured the people of the council area that he will remain steadfast and committed in identifying and executing more developmental projects to bring succour and smile on the faces of the people.The chairman gave this assurance during the governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun's tour of the council area last week during which he acknowledged that the local government was blessed with a crop of dedicated and hardworking officers whose expertise and commitment assisted his administration tremendously to record the modest achievements so far.While enumerating his achievements, the council boss expressed optimism that the state would soon retain its lost glory in the area of agriculture, just as he noted that since he assumed office, workers salaries and allowances were paid as at when due.The chairman also said he has empowered youths in many ways by purchasing motorcycles, tricycles and five official cars for political functionaries and organised training for farmers on dry season vegetable making among others.The state governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, thanked the people of the council area for being supportive to his administration since he assumed office.Senator Amosun said the purpose of his, visit to the council area was to know what the chairman has done so far and to know what exactly the people of the council area neededThe governor described education as the first primary assignment because, according to him, education is the first thing in the entire world. He added that agriculture is the second because it drove the economy forward while infrastructures such as road, electricity, water and so on are core developmental issues. Governor Amosun pledged that his administration will try its best not to owe pensioners, just as he said he had paid them all their money including those owed by the past administration and that he has started building modern schools in the state. The governor commended the council's transition committee chairman for all he has done for the development of the council especially in the area of youth empowerment.
