Technology centre, Bauchi partner on youth empowerment

THE Technology Incubation Centre (TIC) said it will continue its partnership with the Bauchi State Government on youth empowerment.The manager of the centre, Hajiya Hadiza Mohammad, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Bauchi, yestersday.She said the centre was engaged in talent-hunt in the area of entrepreneurship, adding that the environment conducive for the exhibition of talents was created for youths at the centre.'We engage in commercialisation of research and development. We look for resource persons and we check and see any business that has invention and innovation and we bring it into the centre. We also assist in commercialising it, to ensure that it reaches the stage of going into the market.'Mohammad said that personnel of the centre embarked on tours to parts of the state to identify such talents and bring them to limelight for interested corporate and public concerns.She said that the state government promised to patronise the products made at the centre, adding that to ensure easy access to the services of the centre at the grassroots, officers known as non-resident incubatees, had been stationed at strategic locations to identify small businesses that needed value addition in their innovations.
