Startimes pledges focus on Nigeria's digital transformation

A PAY TV service provider, StarTimes, has pledged to transform the country from analogue to digital communication system by 2015.It pledged to accomplish this by reducing the cost of its decoder from N7000 to N3, 900.The General Manager of the company, Mr. Rocky Tiang told reporters in Ibadan that the offer was in line with the deadline of transforming from analogue to digital before 2015, adding that the Minister of Information, Labaran Maku recently released a deadline for analogue TV broadcast in Nigeria.According to him, 'the world's telecommunication body 'International Telecommunication Union' (ITU) stated 2015 as the deadline date for digital transition, also the information minister of Nigeria announces 1st of January 2015 as the deadline date for Nigeria's digital transition.This is a great change zooming into Nigeria, but what influence would this transition drop on every citizen when they turn on their analogue TV set by 2015 and sees nothing' Of course it's not a wish to hope for.Tiang added: 'StarTimes is up to the rescue of making sure every Nigerian is not left behind in this great transition, that is why it 's slashing its price from N7, 000 to N3, 900. Now that we have StarTimes decoder at N3, 900 you can imagine the number of Nigerians that would be opportuned to start experiencing and getting to know about digital TV.
