Published by Guardian on Wed, 16 May 2012

GOVERNOR Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State has commiserated with the students, staff and management of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) as well as the Shofoluwe family over the death of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Adetokunbo Babatunde Shofoluwe. He said that the news of the death of Prof. Shofoluwe was saddening and that the death would not only leave a void in the family and the university community but in the hearts of those who knew him. .'Although it is little consolation at this sad time, it should be of some satisfaction to know that in his passing on, we can celebrate the end of a sound and productive life', Uduaghan stated. He added: 'Professor Shofoluwe was an astute scholar and researcher. He was also a versatile administrator, which he displayed as two-time acting head, Department of Computer Science; Dean of the Faculty of Science, member of the Governing Council of the University of Lagos, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Management Services and Vice Chancellor.'I will forever remember the fond memories of him when he hosted me in his office, when I came to UNILAG to deliver a lecture as guest lecturer at the 45th Anniversary of the Faculty of Arts, on Tuesday, 29 June, 2010, at the Afe Babalola Auditorium.'Uduaghan who said that Shofoluwe's memory would remain indelible in him , prayed God to grant the family and the UNILAG community the fortitude to bear the loss.
