Battery chargers lament insecurity in Agbowo community

BATTERY chargers in Agbowo community, Ibadan North Local Government Area of Oyo State, have berated the attitudes of some people who specialise in stealing car batteries.The battery chargers under the auspices of Battery Charger Association of Nigeria, disclosed that suspected robbers had now shifted their focus to the stealing of car batteries.One of the battery charger in the area, Mr Bashiru Alani told Community News that it was unfortunate that robbers were now interested in stealing batteries.According to him, not more than 20 battery charging shops in the area had in the last one month, been attacked during which no fewer than 50 car batteries were stolen.He added that car owners in the area were not left out as most of them had fallen victims.He said that most of the car owners in the area had expressed dismay over the rate at which their vehicle batteries disappeared before day break on daily basis.The charger disclosed that the stolen batteries were often destroyed while the substances were taken abroad to manufacture new ones.He said that rather than looking for used batteries the people have now shifted their focus to  good car batteries.
