Honda boosts availability of spare parts with N800m

Invests in state-of-the-art workshopPOISED to take adequate care of its increasing clientele, The Honda Place has expended about N800 million on the acquisition of spare parts in the country.The companys Sales and Marketing Director, Deepak Daryanani, made this disclosure on Tuesday while briefing journalists on their newly acquired multi-billion naira after-sales facilities along the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway in Lagos.According to him, about N350 million out of the entire investment was spent on spare parts dedicated to its Apapa office for onward distribution to Lagos offices.He added that the company would continue to satisfy customers demands in Nigeria despite the competition in the industry.Daryanani also disclosed that presently the company was expanding its workshops nationwide to meet up with Honda certified standards.Speaking on the new facility, he said the new structure, which can adequately handle about 100 cars daily has been equipped with state-of-the-art features such as spray workshop, training centre, service bays, spare parts stores and staff canteen.With the development, he noted that Honda would be closer to its customers while it would also be prompt in its response to them.Explaining further, Daryanani said, In a bid to improve our services to our customers and meet the standard of Honda Company, we have increased our facilities. For instance, the paint rooms have now increased to four and we now have 32 bays while our facilities can now conveniently take care of 100 cars daily.These facilities have since become operational since second week of January and with all these facilities at our disposal, we will be closer to our customers and render to them, improved services.These are the best facilities for cars in the country and we hope to be the best in the West Africa sub-region, he said.In his submission, the General Manager in charge of after-sales, Mr. Vasant Rele said that 75 per cent of the companys business resides in Lagos, adding that it would expand its offices across the country.According to him, the company intend to expand operations to Enugu, Maiduguri, Sokoto and Badagry among others, pointing out that the primary aims of the company in 2011 was to expand its offices and workshops nationwide.Already, he said Honda has offices in Kano, Calabar, Lekki in Lagos and Abuja, which service between 850 and 900 cars monthly, adding that the company now carries out online training for its technicians in order to boost their productivity.Reacting to the likely effects of the recent Tsunami in Japan on its services, he said the company has adequate products on ground.Besides, he said Honda as an international company has adequate storage facilities in Belgium to help it service its customers worldwide.
