FG, states, LGs to share N796bn April allocation today

The Federal Government, states and the 774 local government councils in the country will, today, share N796 billion allocation for April, in Abuja.On Thursday, the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) started its technical session to iron out possible areas of difference in the revenue figures for the month.At the plenary session, expected to be chaired by the Minister of State for Finance, Dr Lawan Ngama, today, Akwa Ibom would receive N21.3 billion, the highest for the month. Akwa Ibom was closely followed by Rivers State with N20.8 billion and Delta State, with N17.7 billion.Lagos State followed with N15.2 billion; Kano State, N12 billion and Bayelsa State, N10.9 billion.Among the lowest recipients are Gombe State, N4.5 billion; Nasarawa, N4.7 billion; Ebonyi, N4.3 billion and Ekiti, N4.7 billion.According to the Economic Confidential magazine, the Ministry of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) got N4.8 billion, while its councils got N1.8 billion. The Federal Government will have N234 billion; Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), N2.8 billion and the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), N4.4 billion.
