AYC: F/Eagles beat Ghana 2-1

NIGERIAS Flying Eagles on Monday began its campaign in the 17th African Youth Championship (AYC), on a fine note with a 2-1 victory over the Black Satellites of Ghana in a group B opener played at the Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto.The Flying Eagles deservedly took the lead in the 17th minute, taking advantage of some poor defending from their Ghanaian counterparts.A cross from the right flank was flicked-on by Abdul Ajagun and Innocent Nwofor was able to fire the ball beyond the reach of goalkeeper James Achampong.The reigning Africa and world champions equalised in the 32nd minute through Kwame Nsor who scored with a glancing header,after defender, Richmond Nketiah had crossed to the near post from a corner kick.The John Obuh-piloted side got its winning goal in the 82nd minute through Nwofor again.
