I wont depose any traditional ruler if given second term -Alao-Akala

THE Oyo State governor, Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala, has said he will not and cannot depose any of the traditional rulers in the state, if given second term of office, contrary to the rumours doing the round that he had listed some traditional rulers to be sacked.Governor Alao-Akala was reacting to a letter sent into Epade Gomina, a feedback programme on the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS), on Thursday.He said it was his government that resuscitated the Oyo State Council of Obas forum, bought cars for the royal fathers, increased their salaries and promoted them, stressing that he was still committed to their well-being.On the endorsement of the gubernatorial candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Senator Abiola Ajimobi, by some Ibadan elders, the governor, who described the pronouncement of the forum as mere gibberish, urged that the elders to leave politics for those who were bred for it.I am happy that the real Ibadan people have replied them appropriately. Ibadan metropolis is not the only zone in Oyo State. Why will some elders, who are mostly above 80 years, adopt one out of the candidates They have not done well, he said.
