Yewa youths endorse Isiaka for Ogun gov race

Published by Tribune on Sat, 23 Apr 2011

Hundreds of youths from the Yewa-Awori axis of Ogun State, on Thursday, endorsed the candidacy of the Peoples Party of Nigeria (PPN) gubernatorial candidate, Mr Gboyega Isiaka, as the best man for the exalted position. The youth, under the aegis of Yewa Youths Summit, made their position known in a commu-nique issued after a stakeholders meeting held at Ilaro. The youth said Isiaka, if voted into power, would bring about generational change, adding that he remained the best out of the two contesting for the position from Ogun Central senatiorial district. The youth, in the  communique, said after a care-ful consideration and assessment of the two persons contesting the governorship from Yewaland, we are of the opinion that Isiaka is the better candidate. Our decision was based on objective assessment and it does not, in any way, have anything to do with affiliation with either of the two; we are only convinced that Isiaka is better. The national coordinator, Yewa Youths Congress (YYC), Mr Sunday Oginni, said Isiaka was adopted to bring about the needed generational change. He said Isiaka, whom he described as a youth, represented a generational change, adding that for Nigeria to move forward, youths must be given the chance to govern.Oginni lamented that the Yewa/Awori region had not had the opportunity to govern the state, 35 years after its creation and solicitied the support of the electorate for Isiaka.
