Suswam Injury Rocks Flying Eagles Camp

Flying Eagles camp was on Thursday rocked by an announcement that its defender, Terna Suswam of Vitoria Setubal of Portugal, suffered a shoulder injury during the game against Cameroun such that the former Lobi Stars right back may not be fit for the decisive clash with Guinea tomorrow.Suswam suffered the shoulder injury when he clashed with a Camerounian attacker during the Flying Eagles 0-1 loss to the Lionceaux on Thursday.Although Suswam is currently being treated by the medical team, there are indications that he may not be ready for the clash with Gambia in which the Flying Eagles need at least a draw to make the semifinal.An official of the Nigerian team told journalists yesterday from all indications, the injury is not so serious. The team doctor has assured the coach that Suswam would be ready for the game against the Gambia.But not ready to take any chances, Coach John Obuh has started psyching up Enyimba defender, Emmanuel Anyanwu, to take over his right back position.Obuh is also considering some changes in the teams line up to ensure that we beat Gambia on Sunday because apart from the semifinal ticket, beating Gambia will also fetch us a World Cup ticket, the official said.
