6 electric cars we can't wait to see in 2016

There will be no shortage of electric vehicles unveiled next year.As Tesla plans to enter the mass car market, other automakers are ramping up their efforts in the space.And while we will have to wait a few more years before we get to see a production model of Audi's all-electric e-tron quattro, or Porsche's high-performance Mission E, there are aseveral other all-electric cars being revealed or coming to market next year that are sureto impress.Here's a look at six new cars we can't wait to see in 2016.SEE ALSO:The 16 coolest concept cars revealed in 2015We will finally get to see Tesla's Model 3.Tesla is expected to reveal its first mass market electric car, the Model 3, nextspring.In the company's third quarter shareholder letter, Teslasaid that it was on track to revealing the Model 3 in late 2016.However, the car will likely not go into production until 2017, after Tesla's giant Gigafactory is complete.Tesla CEO Elon Musk said earlier this year the Model 3will be priced at about $35,000, be smaller than the Model S, and have a range of over 200 miles per charge.Faraday Future will reveal a glimpse of its concept.The mysterious car startup Faraday Future, run by alumni from Tesla Motors and other car companies,will reveal its concept of "the future of mobility" in January at CES, theannual technology showcasehosted in Las Vegas.Faraday Futureis expected to unveilan amped up version of its all-electric car. It plans to have a production model on the road before 2020.While Faraday hasn't shared any information regarding the range of its vehicles, the company's vice president of research and development Nick Sampson told the Wall Street Journal earlier this year that its battery pack would be larger than Tesla's battery pack, implying its cars would be able to get more range from a single charge.Hyundai is going to show off its all-electric Ioniq.Hyundai hasn't released many details about its new Ioniq yet, but plans to reveal more details when the car is unveiled next month in Korea.It will also be present at the Geneva and New York auto shows in the spring where we can expect more details.Hyundai says consumers will be able to choose from three different powertrain options: Hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and all-electric. The all-electric version will feature lithium-ion batteries like those used in Tesla's vehicles. However, Hyundai has not said how far the range will be.See the rest of the story at Business Insider
