Emulate Christ, Muoka, Others Task Christians

Published by Guardian on Sun, 24 Apr 2011

AS Christians celebrate Easter, faithful have been urged to emulate the life of Jesus Christ. In his message to Nigerians, the General Overseer of the Lords Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries, Pastor Lazarus Muoka, called on citizens to use the occasion to seek God and reflect soberly.Addressing journalists in Lagos last Wednesday on the churchs two-day Easter Crusade, tagged: Gods Goodness and Mercy, which started yesterday and would end today, at the headquarters of the church, Ijesha, Lagos, Muoka said Nigerians, irrespective of their status, should take advantage of the Easter celebration to amend their ways and allow Jesus Christ into their hearts as Lord and personal Saviour, and prepare for his coming. The presiding Pastor of Kingdom of Light Ministries, Idimu, Lagos, Pastor Samson Makinwa, describes Easter as an event that established Christianity. In an interview with The Guardian, Makinwa said without Easter Christianity would be meaningless.According to him, its even more important than Christmas because Christmas is the birth. Supposing he died and didnt resurrect, then, the birth means nothing. It is the event that makes Christmas meaningful. For the General Overseer of Holiness Power Bible Ministries, Ilasamaja, Lagos, Pastor Austin C. Udeoha, Easter is reminiscent of the biblical Feast of Passover, which speaks of the death of Christ.Udeoha said Christians should reflect on Christs death and resurrection. He urged Christians to let the resurrection power of Christ be seen in their conduct. He said: the resurrection power of Christ produces salvation and delivers you from the power of sin. You are free from sin, and automatically, you become a Christian.
