Lafarge Cement sponsors two golfers to IBB Golf Course

LAFARGE Cement WAPCO Nigeria Plc, will sponsor two youth golfers from the Elephant Cement Golf Club, Sagamu, to the forthcoming Emeka Okatta's annual birthday golf tournament scheduled to hold at the IB8 Golf Course, Abuja.According to the Public Affairs Manager of Lafarge Cement WAPCO, Mr Sunday Awofodu, the two golfers would come from Epe, Sagamu, after a mini-tournament."There will be a competition at the Elephant Cement Golf Club for members where the two golfers to be sponsored to Abuja will emerge," Awofodu toldTribunesports in Lagos. He stated that the aim of his organisation, which maintains two standard golf courses in the country including the course at Ewekoro, was "to support the development of sports and motivate youths in the community to actively engage in sports".Meanwhile, the best three golfers at the Abuja tournament will be sponsored to South Africa on a training tour.
