Elepe golf tournament goes annual

THE Elepe of Epe, Sagamu, Oba Adewale Osiberu, has said that the machinery has been set in motion to make his golf tournament an annual event from 2013.He stated this while speaking with Tribunesports during the 10th Coronation anniversary golf tournament which ended last Sunday at the Elephant Cement Golf Club, Sagamu."We had a golf tournament too during my fifth coronation anniversary but we have put the structure now in place to make this competition an annual event from next year."I have been involved in promoting sports by sponsoring school sports and ayo competitions within the community here. This tournament is only for golfers within the South West because of cost implication," said Oba Osiberu, who expressed satisfaction with the turnout of participants at the tournament.The monarch stated that he derived a lot of fun in sponsoring the golf tournament adding that: "I have a lot of friends golfers who always come here to celebrate with me during the tournment and I do cherish such an occasion because I was actually playing golf at Ikoyi Club before my coronation ten years ago".Meanwhile, Eze U of Sagamu emerged the overall winner of the competition, Gross, with 148 Gross as Nkem V. of Ikoyi Club, finished as runner up with 150 Gross while Eze S of Sagamu Club followed. with 152 Gross.
