Court case trails land handed to family by military authorities

The series of crises and court suits trailing the handover of 46.36 hectares of land by military authorities to a popular Lagos family continued at the Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja ,on Thursday.Justice Akeem Oshodi, at the resumed hearing of the matter, kicked against substituted service of court processes on a party in the disputed Oju Agboroko land of Iba Town, Ojo Lagos, which was handed over to a family by military authorities of Ojo cantonment.The suit is part of a series of matters that had been filed before the court and the claimants in the suit had filed a motion ex parte to enable them to serve the defendant, Prince Ademola Samuel Shonibare, the court processes either by pasting orthrough courier service.Alhaji Saminu Ayila Ajakaye, Chief Shuyitti Alade Agoro, Chief Muyinu Yusuf and Elder Odu Akogun, suing for themselves and on behalf of the Oju Agboroko family, had filed an originating summons, dated April 14, 2012, through their counsel, Mr Ayobamidele Akande, which they claimed could not be served on the defendant.But counsel for the defendant, Ibrahim Bawa, announced his appearance in court alongside his client and expressed his readiness to collect the court processes within the court premises, a request that was granted.
