ONE year after it has successfully organised two consecutive editions of global communication summit, Timex Communication Limited, a Public Relations and Communication outfit has concluded plans for another edition of the summit billed for May 16 and 18, 2011 at the premises of Timex School of Communication (TsC) on Cibi Road, Kurmin Mashi Industrial Layout, by new Panteka and National Eye Centre, Kaduna. The two previous editions were held in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja in 2008 and 2009.Tagged, National Communication Summit, the project is initiated few years ago as the outlets contribution to foster best practice of PR and communication matter in the country.Timex Chief Executive Officer, who is also the founder of the school, Malam Kabir Dangogo, is renown as communication expert, whose contribution in last two decades, has seen to the uplift of PR profession at corporate, national, continental and international levels.Although, the summit is planned to be yearly, Dangogos attention, in terms of time and resources, in the past one year, has been concentrated on facilitating the take-off of the specialised training institute for communication studies.And the hosting of the summit on the schools premises appears to be the fruits of his hard labour. In fact, the inauguration of Governing Council of school is one of the highlights of the opening ceremony of the summit on May 16. Communication scholar, Prof. Lai Oso of Caleb University, Lagos is the chairman of the governing council.Distinguished personalities expected at the summit include Executive Secretary, Nigerian Press Council (NPC), Mr. Bayo Atoyebi; President, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Alh. Mohammed Abdullahi; President, Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE), Mr. Gbenga Adefaye; Chairman, Advertising Practitioners Council Of Nigeria (APCON), Mr. Lolu Akinwunmi among others.Some of the issues to be examined during the three-day outing are Building and Managing a Successful Brand; Crisis Communication & Reputation Management; Public Speaking & Development of Presentation Skills; Social Media and online Communication; Advertising & Marketing Communications; Business/Financial Communication Strategies; Managing Internal Communications; Public Information Management; and Strategic Media Relations Management.
