Akpabio Moves To Equip Schools With Laboratories

GOVERNOR Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State has directed the state Commissioner for Education to provide science laboratories in public secondary schools in the state.Akpabio, who gave the directive at a state banquet to mark this year's Democracy Day and his five years of stewardship of the state held at Government Banquet Hall, Uyo, was reacting to an appeal by one of the students of Community Secondary School, Aka Offot in Uyo for his school to be equipped with a science laboratory.Akpabio, who applauded the three students of the school who represented Nigeria and won first position during the eighth edition of Schools Science Competition held in South Africa, further directed the commissioner to inspect the school with a view to equipping its laboratory with modern science facilities.He donated N1 million to each of the students.
