A DOOR of opportunities for big-time football career in Europe and other parts of the world is open again for clubs and individuals, as a team of European scouts, led by Finnish FIFA Player Agent and Chief Executive of TopSpot, Marko Saranlinna, and former Dutch midfielder and coach, Theo De Jong, are in Nigeria for a talent tournament.Working in partnership with Nigeria-based sports giant, Paddysco Sports International, TopSpot, with its array of European Scouts, will begin the countrywide two-week-stretch programme from Lagos from tomorrow to Thursday at the LASU Stadium in Ojo, beginning from 10a.m each day.Speaking at a reception for the Europeans, the Chief Executive Officer of Paddysco Sports, Peter Azunnaya Okereke, said that, 'having successively held an U-19 talent hunt in December 2011 and the Lagos Mock World Cup, which ended in April 2012, it is necessary that we expose the various talents discovered at these tournaments to the outside world.'Speaking on behalf of the scouts, De Jong, who was a former member of the coaching crew of Cameroun, China and Trinidad & Tobago, as well as various European clubs, said his group wascommissioned by different European clubs, and that they expected to see players within ages 17 and 21 years.Such players, he said, must be mentally strong and intelligent, and though all playing positions are required, emphasis is on strikers and attackers.Meanwhile, Paddysco Sports has declared participation in the tourney free; all that is required is that interested clubs or individuals visit www.paddyscosports.com or contact Alaba (08169462867) or Kingsley (08028376687) to book a place in the tournament.
