Aremo landlords petition Ajimobi over insecurity

Residents and landlords in Aremo-Alaadorin area of Ibadan, under the aegis of Iwajowa-Aremo-Alaadorin Landlords Association (Zone II), have petitioned the Oyo State governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, over incessant attacks by hoodlums and undesirable elements in communities in the zone.A copy of the 30th May, 2012 dated petition made available to the Community News and signed on behalf of the association by Chief E.A Sangogade, was also sent to the state police commissioner, Mr Tambari Mohammed and other relevant security agencies.The residents said the save-our-soul letter became necessary to appeal to the state government and the security operatives to rescue them from further onslaughts of the criminals, whom, they said, freely disposed them of their belongings, brutalised and harassed women on going to markets.They added that the activities of the hoodlums had forced them to sleep with one eye closed, while women had been afraid of going to markets for fear of being assaulted.They, therefore, called for urgent action from the state government and the security agents so that they may go about their lawful activities without further molestation.
