Residents flee Borno ward

RESIDENTS of Lawan Bukar ward of Maiduguri metropolis in Borno State, yesterday fled the area, fearing that the Joint Task Force (JTF) and members of the banned Boko Haram sect might soon clash there.Many houses and shops were recently set ablaze when gunmen attacked military patrol vehicles in the area.According to a housewife in the area, Hajiya Ya Fati (44), who was seen fleeing the area, the JTF authorities had told them to steer clear of Lawan Bukar, which they suspected to be a hideout for the sect members.
