MIRIAN Onyeka Okolo is a makeup artist, who is living her passion of beautifying faces. The University of Lagos graduate, who honed her skills at the Tara Makeup School, speaks about what it takes to have a good beauty regime. Why did you go into makeup business'I didn't just decide to go into makeup, I grew up with it. When I was younger, my mum used to have lots of them, which she basically didn't use much of; so, I decided to put them into better use. I started by experimenting with colours, I continued with this into the university, where I did makeup for friends and classmates. How long have you been doing makeup'It's for four years now.How do you relate with your clients'I make sure I understand my clients' needs and interpret them correctly. But in a situation where a client's want is not what I think it is, I make her see reasons and make sure that there is an understanding between us before I start work.What makes your outfit unique' At Quintessence Makeovers, we bring out the true essence of a woman's beauty. We transform clients' faces with every touch of our art. We make them look flawless and beautiful.Who are your clients'Brides models, musical artistes, actors/actresses and those that want to look beautiful, we basically cater for everybody whether young or old.What inspires you to do your work'People, environment and colours. Role modelsSam Fine.Three tips on mascara application' Wiggle the wand from left to right at the base of your lashes, so that the root retains enough mascara to give illusion of a great length.' Pull the wand upwards to separate the strands.' Clean off the remaining mascara on the wand with the eyes shut; sweep the wand to the tips to remove any clumps.
