The Power Sector, the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) and NERCs Game Changing and Winning Interventions (Part 2)

In the last edition, this column provided background information on the role of NERC in helping to improve the NESI. In this edition, however, we shall review the recent Regulations issued by NERC and some of the other interventions made by NERC and how these are changing the landscape of the NESI. In particular, we shall be reviewing the dynamics of the Multi Year Tariff Order (MYTO), the rules on metering, connection and disconnection of consumers, the Embedded Generation (EG) Regulations and the Independent Electricity Distribution Network (IEDN) Regulations amongst others.
