Community leader faults composition of Adavi LG staff audit committee

A leader of Adavi community resident in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, Mr Seibu Amadu, has faulted the composition of a committee set up by the Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State to carry out a staff audit of the council.Amadu, in a statement made available to newsmen in Ado-Ekiti, said the people -Ekiti, were not happy that some people with questionable records were included in the committee that screened workers of the council.According to Amadu in the statement, the committee's work would be tainted considering the questions trailing the individuals, adding that the people of the community both at home in Adavi and in Ado=Ekiti; and indeed other parts of the country, were of the view that 'those who should screen others must be above board themselves.'The community leader contended that the exercise was not clean enough in view of the development and wondered why the report of the committee could not be made public but was found with members of a private club he said were powerful politicians.He charged the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in the council to call for the dissolution of the committee, saying NULGE should 'disregard their watery report.'The Adavi indigenes in Ado Ekiti also demanded that 'a new body whose members are neither staff of the local government nor belong to any group that apparently sponsors any political party.
