I won't leave Warri now - Obodo

CHRISTIAN Obodo has declared that his kidnap experience last weekend would not make him run away from Warri at least for now.The 28 year old, who was rescued from his abductors on Sunday night, said Warri will always remain his home town."I'm a Warri boy and a son of the town. I lived most of my life here (in Warri) with my family and friends before I left the country.What has happened will not make me run away from my family and home because this is where I was born and this is where I grew up."It wasn't a good experience but I do not have another home other than Warri. My family is here and my houses and some of my investment are here too," Obodo said.The Udinese midfielder is expected to stay in Warri till the next fortnight as the guest of the Delta State governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan contrary to reports that he would be leaving for Italy immediately.Obodo was kidnapped on Saturday morning in Effurun area of Warri while driving alone in his car with customised registration plate number 'Obodo 5.'The footballer was rescued from his abductors on Sunday night in a hideout in Emevor in Isoko North local government area of Delta State.Five suspects are currently in police custody for their involvement in the kidnap of the player.
