Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria, (North east) Reverend Shuaibu Mbyal claims both President Goodluck Jonathan and CPC Presidential aspirant in 2011, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari have betrayed the North eastern region of the country.Mbyal told newsmen in Bauchi that, "the two Nigerian leaders betrayed the people of North East because they both came to the North East and asked for people's votes, and the people in this area came out and voted for them massively. Unfortunetly, there was post election violence and many lives were lost, and we are still battling with so many hoodlums and gun men, insurgencies and many problems of insecurity with unknown people attacking places of worships and killing innocent souls but none of them has visited any state in the North east to condole the people'The North east region comprises of Borno, Yobe, Bauchi, Gombe, Adamawa and Taraba state, all of which have suffered from continuous attacks over the last year.Byal warned Christians against reprisal attacks but advised Bauchi State CAN Chairman to do all he could and follow to the logical conclusions the allegations of extra judicial killings by soldiers during the recent suicide attack in Bauchi's Church of Harvest Field, Yalwa, and bring the perpetrators of the act to justice. He said enemies of peace have been trying to set Christians and Muslims against each other by attacking places of worship and advised worshippers to pray for peace and stability and work hard in order to achieve sustainable peace in the region.
