Aluko is NAWIS new boss

DR. Toyin Aluko on Tuesday emerged the new president of the Nigeria Association of Women In Sports (NAWIS) for the next four years.In the election held at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos,the ex-international and immediate past vice-president took over from Gloria Obajimi, who is the Registrar of the National Institute for Sports (NIS) and current president of the national body.Aluko is the technical director of the Lagos State Handball Association. With Aluko assuming higher responsibilities, the position of vice-president went to another ex-international, Temitayo Popoola, who is a member of the ceremonial and protocol committee for the 2012 National Sports Festival. She will double as the association's programme co-ordinator.Other offices contested for were that of the general secretary and assistant general secretary, which were won by Bridget IbeneroandEro-Phillips Olayinka respectively.Joy Maiyaki, who served in the last board as general secretary, is the new treasurer.
